Bruno Massel Sr. – Crew Chief

The 65 year-old entrepreneur, inventor and racer is a true veteran of drag racing.

Bruno’s racing career began in 1965 when he built his record setting A/Altered roadster. The “Gladiator” as it was appropriately titled, became a legend in the Midwest racing scene. From that point on Bruno’s career has been nothing short of exceptional. He has set national records and claimed victories at all levels of competition. Bruno has won numerous national and divisional events (too many to list) he has won two NHRA Division 3 Super Comp Championships, the 1990 TRW Sportsman All-Stars and was awarded two consecutive top ten national rankings in the early 1990’s. Bruno has also been a finalist for the prestigious “Car Craft All-Stars Driver of the Year Award.” For Bruno SR, his most recent accomplishments are now noted off the track as well as on. He is the owner and founder of Bruno’s Automotive Products, Inc. The growing company manufactures high-end drag racing components, while specializing in a line of US patented race transmissions.

Bruno SR’s 40 years in the sport are an invaluable asset to the team. Not only does Bruno Massel racing benefit from his engineering capabilities, but also from his long standing relationships with fans, noted racers, manufacturers and key members of the motorsports media. As a true testament to Bruno’s impact on the sport, he was recently named by a prestigious industry publication as one of the “50 most innovative individuals in drag racing.” Furthermore, in 2008 and in 2009 he was named NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 5 “Crew Chief of the Year.”
